Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Rawlins Cross is approaching legendary status as one of Canada’s most accomplished and beloved Celtic music groups. With the upcoming release of its 10th studio recording, “Flying Colours”, Rawlins Cross continues to capture the hearts and imaginations of a dedicated global fan-base developed over an acclaimed career.
The band was formed in St. John’s, Newfoundland in the late 1980s by songwriting brothers Dave Panting (guitar and mandolin), Geoff Panting (keyboards and accordion) and Ian McKinnon (highland pipes, tin whistle and bodhran). With the solid rhythm section of Halifax bassist and Chapman Stick player Brian Bourne and Ontario-based drummer Howie Southwood, Rawlins Cross enlisted PEI singer Joey Kitson to complete its signature sound.
Since the beginning, Rawlins Cross has been at the vanguard of the fusion of Celtic traditional music with the rhythms of Rock, Pop and Worldbeat music. Equally at ease with a soulful Highland Air (MacPherson’s Lament) or a raucous party song (Colleen, Wild Rose, Reel ‘n’ Roll), Rawlins Cross never fails to electrify its faithful fans. Over the years, Rawlins Cross has always been a “fan favourite” on the North American and European music festival circuit and regularly plays to sold-out concert halls across Canada.
30 years and 9 albums later, Rawlins Cross continues to maintain a steady course with their 10th studio recording "Flying Colours" (November 2019). "Flying Colours" will prove to be another significant mile marker in the band's storied career - an eclectic mix of the old world and the new.

Steve Poltz arrives back on the river to deliver his one of a kind brand of Folk Music.
Steve Poltz is not normal.
He was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada) but has lived most of his life in Southern California and those geographic poles are quite likely responsible for his unhinged genius. He is a dual citizen - Canada/USA - but has often said that, "should a hostage situation arise, I become conveniently Canadian."
As a recording artist, he’s fronted the semi-legendary Rugburns and is responsible for a critically lauded body of work on his own: One Left Shoe, Chinese Vacation, Answering Machine, The Barn (a children's album), Tales From The Tavern (a performance DVD), Traveling, Unraveling, Dreamhouse, Noineen Noiny Noin, the soundtrack for the acclaimed Sundance-screened documentary film, Running Wild - The Life of Dayton O. Hyde and most recently his critically acclaimed record Folksinger.
As good as his albums are (and they're very, very good), Steve positively owns a crowd when he's on stage, where the proverbial rubber hits the road. His shows are the stuff of legend – no two are alike – and can take an unsuspecting audience from laughter to tears and back again in the space of a single song. He is a master of improvisational songwriting and works without a set list to be free to react instantly to the mood of a room. It's also worth mentioning that he is an astonishing guitar player on top of everything else. He is quite possibly the most talented, and engaging, solo performer on this planet. That's what 220+ shows a year on three continents will do for you.
Whether he's Canadian, or American, or simply from space there's no denying there's only one Steven Joseph Joshua Poltz and to know him is to love him.
Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM.

Australian-born & Alberta-raised, Gord Bamford stands as one
of the most decorated artists in Canadian country music with
an impressive 24 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards, multi JUNO nominations and the only two time winner out of Nashville’s Country Music Association (CMA) receiving the 2013 & 2015 CMA Global Country Artist award. But it is his distinctive sound and song writing ability that defines Gord Bamford as one of country music’s
best neotraditional artists and like so many others that have come before him; Bamford is not an overnight success. He has spent the better part of the last 20 years honing his craft, working to get where he is today.
Along with bandmates the Drifting Cowboys, this two-act feature performance includes 22 songs from the man hailed by many as the greatest country music singer and songwriter of all time. Ryan Cook and company re-animate the sounds of Don Helms’ haunting steel guitar, Jerry Rivers’ fiddle arrangements, and the yodeling of the lovesick boy from Georgiana, Luke the Drifter himself: Hank Williams.
“Ryan Cook’s channeling of Hank Williams – his voice and heartache- is a moving experience. A terrific performance by this young artist and his band”- Harry Thurston, Gaspereau Press
Ryan Cook began performing as Hank Williams in 2009 when he performed consecutive sold-out weeks of the Maynard Collins play “The Show He Never Gave” in Sackville, New Brunswick.
Now this one night only show comes to the Vogue. Doors open at 7PM show starts at 7:30PM

Saint John based chamber folk trio Ladd and Lasses celebrate the release of their debut album "She Wanders' with a concert June 2nd at The Vogue in Miramichi. Tickets for the event are $15 in advance/$20 at the door, and will be available at Creative Grounds Cafe May 4th.
About Ladd and Lasses When Hilary Ladd asked Nienke Izurieta and Katie Bestvater to perform on her first full-length album, she was not expecting to make the transition from singer/songwriter to band member. Having backed up other Saint John artists (Leo Lafleur, Bad People) for the last four years, it was only a matter of time before the trio broke off on their own. What started off as another opportunity for Katie and Nienke to lend their talents to another set of tracks quickly became a chance for them to finally call a band their own. Thus, Ladd & Lasses was born.
Accomplished artists in their own rights, these three diverse musicians have come together with a passion for giving every song its due. A stunning singer with a gift for word play, Hilary spins her scrawled notes into beautiful lyrics and melodies. Then enter the soulful strings of Katie, cellist, and Nienke, violinist, to create a tapestry of harmonies that bring each song to new life. The result is a fusion of classical, folk and pop music with a penchant for epiphany-laden lyrics
